Frequently Asked Questions

What is Coaching?
Coaching is an interactive process that helps people and companies gain clarity, direction and focus. Working together we will define your goals and the actions needed to achieve them. Coaching is about discovery and moving forward. My coaching mission is to reach out to individuals, couples, families and groups to help them achieve balance and peace in their lives, especially through stressful or trying times.

How does Coaching work?
Sessions are generally held either over the phone or in person and can also be accomplished through groups and workshops. As your coach, I will listen without judgment, make powerful requests to assist you on your journey and help you remain accountable. Various coaching tools and assessments are used throughout the process to help define, explore and act on issues that may be holding you back or getting in your way. While schedules may vary from client to client, we will generally meet 3 times per month at an agreed upon tome.

How are Coaches different than Therapists or Consultants?

One of the main differences between coaches and therapists is that therapy is focused on, or at least starts with, healing the client while coaching takes clients who are, for the most part, emotionally sound but "stuck". Therapists help clients resolve internal pain and release old patterns while coaches support clients in finding external solutions and overcoming barriers. Skilled coaches do not coach clients in crisis and will often refer to therapists. Consultants are often brought in to a business situation where the client needs help or guidance from someone with expertise in a certain area. Coaches do not need to be experts, or even have experience, in the area a client needs help with. Coaches work with clients to help them define their next steps and to be an accountability partner. There are many ways in which coaches, therapists and consultants can work together, complementing the modalities each offers and offering a combined benefit to a client.

Who uses a Coach?
People from all walks of life can use and benefit from coaching. This includes people in transition in their lives or careers, people seeking work/life balance, work at home/stay at home moms and dads, empty nesters, professionals and executives and anyone looking to move forward on something in their lives.

How long do Coaching sessions last?
Each session is approximately 45 minutes for individuals and are held 3 times per month. Couples coaching sessions usually run for 75 minutes. I suggest a commitment of three months as it takes at least that long to move enough forward movement to see sustainable progress. Many people find that 6 month commitments work the best. I have a variety of packages for you to choose from.

How do I make payment?
I accept Checks, Credit Cards and PayPal and payments are do before our first session and on a monthly basis. Discounts for full prepayment may be available.

Is there a contract to sign?
You will receive information outlining our terms and conditions and this does need to be signed before we begin. This ensures that everyone is on the same page as to how things will work and there is no confusion.
